It was just a Sunday Afternoon Samba at the restaurant Miam Miam in Rio. 30 guests, family, good food and love. That's how Monique and Cassio came into our lives, with that freshness and simplicity of a peaceful and loving couple. Monique more of a talking person, Cassio more observer, the two together completed each other in a way that is difficult for us to explain, you could see it in the looks, in the subtle movements. Their love was almost a secret that only the two of them knew, a code that only the two could decipher. An amazing thing to see. And so it was their wedding.
But Monique and Cassio have a lot more history behind it, a story they decided to tell in the old Continent, in a small town in the Netherlands called Delft. Delft is home to one of the most acclaimed Dutch painters in history, Johannes Vermeer, responsible for creating works such as the 'Girl with a Pearl Earring'. And now it's the home of this lovely couple, who's now responsible for creating their own masterpiece called Thomas! Yes, during the second session we did with them, in December 2014, Monique and Cassio gave us the breaking news: we are pregnant. In that spacious and colorful kitchen of a super traditional and modern Dutch apartment, right after breaking to their family, we were the firsts to know.
2x in Holland doesn't happen often. 3x photographing the same beautiful couple definitely not often. But when that couple presents you with a pregnancy news the third time... well, you can't help but die of love. :))
And that was how we had the time of our lives with Monique and Cassio in beautiful Delft and beautiful Utrecht. Autumn and winter, a thousand shades of brown, cold weather and human warmth.
Era só um sambinha domingo a tarde no restaurante Miam Miam no Rio. Eram só 30 pessoas, família, comida boa e amor. Foi assim que Monique e Cassio entraram nas nossas vidas, com essa leveza e simplicidade de um casal tranquilo e carinhoso. Monique mais falante, Cassio mais contido, os dois juntos se completavam de uma forma difícil de explicar, você percebe nos olhares, nos movimentos sutis. O amor deles era quase que um segredo que só os dois sabiam, um código que só os dois tinham como decifrar. Uma coisa gostosa de se ver. E assim foi o casamento deles.
Mas a Monique e o Cassio têm muito mais história por trás disso, história que eles resolveram contar lá no velho mundo, em uma pequena cidade na Holanda chamada Delft. Delft foi a morada de um dos pintores holandeses mais queridos e admirados da história, Johannes Vermeer, responsável por criar obras como a ‘Garota com Brinco de Pérola’. E agora é morada desse casal tão querido, responsável por criar uma obra prima chamada Thomas! Sim, durante o segundo ensaio que fizemos com eles, em Dezembro de 2014, Monique e Cassio nos deram the breaking news: estamos grávidos. Junto com a família, fomos os primeiros a saber, ali naquela cozinha espaçosa e colorida de um apartamento super tradicional e moderno holandês.
2x na Holanda não é toda hora. 3x fotografando esse casal lindo também não é toda hora. E quando na 3 vez o casal te presenteia com uma notícia de gravidez…bom, não tem como não morrer de amores. :))
E foi assim que tivemos the time of our lives com Monique e Cassio na linda Delft e na linda Utrecht. Outono e inverno, mil tons de marrom, frio e calor humano.
